Through this course, participants will obtain an overview of legal records, procedures and terminology and the fundamental concepts, principles and methods of managing records in the courts and legal entities.  Participants will learn about records creation; records classification systems and retention schedules; and writing RIM policies - all critical skills in managing records - and how this knowledge can be applied to manage court and legal records operations.  The course also will introduce participants to more advanced topics in managing records in courts and legal entities, such as media conversion; electronic records management systems; outsourcing; access, privacy and security; and the challenges of managing the discovery process.
