
Emerson O. Bryan is an Independent Consultant and Information specialist. He was recently the Research Assistant in the NDESA/ CARICAD Caribbean Technical and Advisory Support Facility (TASF) on eGovernment based at the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration (CARICAD) in Bridgetown, Barbados. Before being employed to the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), he was a member of the Jamaican Foreign Service, where he worked as a Records Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and was seconded from the Foreign Ministry, for a year, as the Records and Information Manager of the Ministry of Land and Environment (Office of the Prime Minister).
Mr. Bryan has worked with several organizations across the Caribbean, including: the Bank of Jamaica, the University of the West Indies, Mona, the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Secretariat, the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL), the CARICOM Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) and the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (CRNM). He has also lectured at the Professional Trainers Institute in Jamaica, as well as facilitated workshops and technical assistance in St. Lucia and Belize within Records and Information Management on behalf of CARICAD.
The facilitator is active in several professional organizations including the : Association of Commonwealth Archivists and Records Managers (ACARM), Information Society of Barbados, the Jamaican Chapter of ARMA International, the Library and Information Association of Jamaica (LIAJA), and others as well as charity organizations. He is also a noncommissioned officer of the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard, where he has served since 1999 in the National Reserves.
